ART + PRODUCTION

Teri Knoll Binaei

 artist advocate + advisor

strategist + connector + curator

I create and facilitate opportunities for artists by ensuring a seamless process that brings the spark of any idea to existence.  I expedite the artist’s creative vision serving as the direct line of contact between the artist and art space -  initiating and developing concepts and projects, conveying technical requirements and space considerations; insuring the meeting of all budgets, managing deadlines and production specifications, editing and translating publications, serving as advisor, strategist, partner and advocate throughout the process.

My integrated and diverse set of 30+ years of working with artists and art spaces have prepared me to undertake a wide range of projects.  As executive director of the California Association of Museums, I represented over 2,000 museums through legislative advocacy campaigns, statewide publicity efforts, and educational and promotional events for and about the California museum community.  As program director of the Craft and Folk Art Museum (Los Angeles), curatorial assistant at the California African American Museum, project director of the Sociedade Cultural Arte Brasil (Sao Paulo), and 15 years as a consultant in the area of Brazilian contemporary art, I have amassed the know-how and experience to get any project done with efficiency and creative resourcefulness.

Projects realized in California African American Museum, Wonderspaces, Craft and Folk Art Museum, MoMA PS1, Los Angeles Municipal Art Gallery, Consulate General of Brazil in Los Angeles, NY Town Hall, NY Public Theater, SESC Pinheiros (São Paulo), Museum of Art São Paulo
